StoneFly Pioneers New Generation of IP SANs with Introduction of High-Performance i4000 Storage Concentrator

Fourth Generation iSCSI Product is StoneFly’s Fastest IP SAN to Date; Designed to Support Large-Scale SAN Deployments and the Latest Processor-Intensive Technologies

San Diego – Nov. 20, 2006 –StoneFly™, Inc., a leading supplier of integrated IP storage area network (SAN) systems and a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynamic Network Factory, Inc. (DNF), today introduced the Storage Concentrator™ i4000, a next-generation addition to the company’s flagship product line. The i4000 leverages dual-core processing power and three-fold increases in internal system bandwidth to support large-scale SAN deployments while taking advantage of the latest processor-intensive technologies, including Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives, 10Gb iSCSI and 4Gb Fibre Channel.

According to Mo Tahmasebi, CEO of DNF, the i4000 represents StoneFly’s fastest and most robust IP SAN since the company pioneered the iSCSI storage market in 2003.
“The i4000 is a milestone announcement for StoneFly,” he said. “It builds upon our years of iSCSI experience and at the same time embraces the future, with a robust platform designed to support emerging new technologies as well as innovative IP SAN applications.”

Ideal for large SAN deployments made up of 30 to 100 hosts supporting web hosting, email, database and other high-end storage applications, the i4000 is priced starting at only $10,000 per node to provide an affordable alternative for budget-constrained IT departments. All i4000 systems feature flexible port configurations to utilize direct attached storage, SAN resources and high-performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet Connections. In addition, the i4000 Storage Concentrators come standard with StoneFly Snapshot and Reflection synchronous mirroring software; block-level virtualization; and the StoneFusion Intelligent Network Storage Platform, which offers comprehensive storage services such as centralized storage management, storage consolidation, access control, volume management, mirroring and provisioning to present SAN storage to hosts as local disks.

The i4000 is now available in both standalone and cluster configurations, with pricing starting at $10,000 per node.
