New iSCSI SAN Also Features 10GB Ethernet Support, Advanced Cluster Mirror Technology for Engine and Array Redundancy, And Industry’s Most Economical Pricing

San Diego – Sept. 12, 2006 –StoneFly™, Inc., a leading supplier of integrated IP storage area network (SAN) systems and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynamic Network Factory, Inc. (DNF), today introduced the StoneFly Integrated-High Availability Storage Concentrator (HSC), a new line of IP SANs designed with the industry’s highest levels of redundancy for maximum data protection. The HSC also represents the first brand name IP SAN to support 10GB Ethernet, and the first IP SAN to support cluster mirrors for engine and array redundancy. The system is offered at the industry’s most economical price points to meet the needs of high-end users at every level, from small-and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to departmental applications and large enterprises.

The HSC-1420 is the first IP SAN system available as part of the new StoneFly product line. Designed as a simple, rapid to deploy IP SAN in a box, the HSC-1420 provides advanced functionality and storage scalability up to 10.5 TB in a single chassis. Featuring StoneFly’s field-tested clustering technology, it offers mirroring at the hardware level to minimize downtime in all failure scenarios from the component level, to the system level and chassis level, resulting in a truly redundant and highly available solution not obtainable from any other IP SAN provider.

“The HSC was designed to offer the ultimate in data protection for those high-end users whose storage requirements demand maximum redundancy,” said Mo Tahmasebi, CEO of DNF. “As StoneFly continues to break new ground with IP SAN advancements, such as 10GB Ethernet support and unsurpassed redundancy, the HSC is yet another proof point that our number one concern is meeting the data availability needs of our customers.”

For further system-level redundancy, HSC-1420 systems can be augmented with an additional StoneFly i3000 Storage Concentrator, which can take over services in case of any failure on the built-in Storage Concentrator engine. A second HSC-1420 may also be added to a customer configuration to offer Storage Concentrator engine redundancy as well as data mirroring, creating a solution with truly no single point of failure.

Each HSC-1420 storage array comes with an abundance of built-in high-reliability features, including advanced sub-array support with true RAID data protection built with the latest Serial ATA high-speed disk drives, and redundant power and cooling. The system also supports RAID Levels 1,5,6 and 10 for flexibility in configuration. To provide enterprise-class functionality, StoneFly also offers a wide range of software and hardware options, such as Continuous Data Protection and D2D Backup.
Based on the extensible StoneFusion® 5.0 operating system, the HSC-1420 also delivers best in class flexibility and performance, providing an enterprise-class IP SAN solution that can grow with an organization’s needs. Advanced storage management functions, such as synchronous mirroring and campus mirroring, are available through StoneFly Reflection and StoneFly Snapshot, offered as standard, built-in features of the HSC-1420. Additionally, via StoneFusion, HSC Storage Concentrators provide storage provisioning to present SAN storage to hosts as local disks.
Available in September 2006, the HSC-1420 is priced starting at $18,800. All HSC configurations include an integrated StoneFly Storage Concentrator engine and storage; StoneFly Snapshot and Reflection synchronous mirroring software; block-level virtualization; Stonefly clustering; and StoneFusion 5.0, which offers comprehensive storage services such as centralized storage management, storage consolidation, access control, volume management, IP SAN provisioning, and built-in reporting.
